How to: Set up Apps Menu for Aruvo TV

This article talks about the steps you need to follow to set up the Apps Menu for Aruvo TV.
Important Note:
This article is only applicable when using a smart TV or streaming device with a Google, Apple or Fire TV operating system. Roku OS does not support switching apps from within Aruvo.

- You need help in selecting the Apps you want to provide on the Aruvo TV app
- You need to edit or delete the Apps in your Aruvo TV configuration

- Ensure that your smart TV(s) and/or streaming device(s) are compatible with Aruvo TV. For a complete list of compatible devices, see Compatible TV Models: Aruvo TV.

- Add personalized instructions for the Guest to guide them with the App Login.
- Option to enable the Google Play Store in the Apps section of the Aruvo TV.
⚙️ Step-by-Step Setup
Step 1. Open the web portal Aruvo TV
Navigate to Personalized More and Select Apps.
Important Note:
Please ignore the first step and start from the second step if you are not setting this up for the first time. (This Step is only applicable if you are doing the setup for the First time during the Onboarding)
Step 2. Navigate to the Apps section.
Please follow the steps below to begin the Setup for the Apps Section.
- Click on the TV option on the Left Side menu tab.
- Then click on Apps located at the top menu tab.
- Select the Platform you are using, and then click on Apps Screen Settings.
Step 3. App Screen Settings:
Under this section, you can make changes to the following things:
- Display Apps on Smart TV
Toggle the Option off if you do not want to display the Apps section on the Smart TV.
- Display Google Play Store:
You can toggle this option off if you do not want your guest to be able to download an app from the Google Play Store on the TV.
- Menu Title:
You can change the title by clicking on the "Edit" button for the Menu Title and updating it to the desired title.
- Add Custom Instructions (for Guests on Smart TV):
Custom instructions will be shown at the top of the smart TV and will be the same for all the Live TV Apps. You can add instructions for guests related to the Complimentary subscription, featured content, or Login steps to log in to the Live TV Apps.
Click on the Edit icon to add custom instructions for the guest, and you can use the toggle option to enable and disable this option to show up on the Smart TV.
Step 4. Manage Apps:
Expand the section to be able to select and make changes to the Apps section setup.
Select Apps
Click on Select Apps and choose from the list of Apps available on the Aruvo Portal.
Choose from the available pool of apps and click on add once selected.
Important note:
Selecting the Apps in this section does not mean they will get installed on the actual TV, So if you select a app here and the app is not installed on the TV you will still need to Install the App.
Display notes
- Display notes will be shown on the Smart TV, and these can have specific guest instructions or notes related to whether the guest is supposed to use their account, or the Login credentials can be added for the Guest's convenience.
- You can use the toggle to enable or disable the Notes for apps on the Apps Section.
Step 5. How to Edit the List of Apps or Request a New App.
1. If you are not able to find an app in the list, please click on "Request App Here" and follow the steps in How To: Request New App for Aruvo TV.
2. To edit the List of selected apps, click on the "Edit" icon.
- Click on the "Delete" button to remove the app from the selected list, or click the "Edit" button to change the Notes of the selected app.
- You can change the order of the apps listed using the drag handle to move the apps up or down on the List.
Step 6. Live TV Display Settings.
Customize how your TV looks by customizing the Navigation Highlight color, Title Text color, and background color.
