Aruvo TV works with all major smart TV platforms, as well as any TV with an HDMI port! Because of this, we do not recommend any particular device model. You can refer to the following article for a full list of Compatible TV Models for Aruvo TV.
Question:
How do I set up the Aruvo TV app on my TV or streaming device?

Answer:
Aruvo pin is by default set up as 1234, and you can find it under the Units page on the Aruvo portal.
Question:
Can guests watch YouTube TV using the Aruvo app?
Answer:
Yes, Aruvo is compatible with the YouTube TV app.
You may need to configure a dedicated YouTube TV account for this when installing on a device with a Google TV operating system; guests will not be able to switch to their personal account without exiting Aruvo. All other platforms work normally with YouTube TV and Aruvo.
Question:
If a guest signs into their own Netflix/Hulu/other streaming app account, can I set Aruvo TV to automatically log them out after their stay?
Answer:
No, it is not possible to log out of streaming apps automatically at this time.
Question:
I made some changes to the design or theme using the Aruvo dashboard. How long before the changes appear on the TV?
Answer:
Changes should be visible on the TV display within 10-15 minutes of the update.
Aruvo will update automatically during any of the following events:
- The TV or streaming device is powered on
- A guest or user presses the "Home" or D-pad keys on a supported remote (note that Roku OS does not support this functionality)
- Every 10 - 15 minutes if the above triggers are not detected
Question:
We have a few common area TVs in the front desk area, restaurant etc. How can we have a different design for these TVs vs. Room TVs?
Answer:
You can simply set up dedicated "properties" for these TVs, and configure them as desired! For instructions, see How to: Link Aruvo TV to property.
Question:
Does IPTV work with Aruvo?
Answer:
Yes! When using Aruvo on a TV or streaming device with the Google TV operating system, guests can use their IPTV app to stream to the TV. For a list of all supported IPTV apps, see: Supported IPTV apps.
Question:
I have a smart TV or streaming device at home and want to "try" Aruvo TV to see if it's something I want to implement in the future. How can I do this?
Answer:

Question:
How do I cast (Google Cast) my streaming content?
Answer:
Follow these steps to use Google Cast on supported devices:
1. Make sure the mobile device, tablet, or computer the guest is using to cast from is on the same Wi-Fi network as your Google TV device.
2. Open a Cast-enabled app.
3. Tap the "Cast" button.
Note that the "Cast" button isn't located in the same place across all Cast-enabled apps.
4. Tap the device you'd like to cast to.
5. When you're connected, the "Cast" button will turn solid, letting you know you're connected.
6. You can now cast videos, movies, and TV shows directly to your TV.
7. To stop casting, tap the "Cast" button and then tap "Disconnect".
Note: The selected app will stay open after the Google Cast session is disconnected. The user will need to press the "Home" button or D-pad to launch the Aruvo TV app again.
Question:
Is the Spectrum app compatible with Aruvo TV?
Answer:
The Spectrum TV app is not compatible with the Google TV operating system, but Roku, Fire TV, and Apple TV devices all support Spectrum. On all platforms, the Xumo app is available for free and works normally.
Question:
Is the Xfinity app compatible with Aruvo TV?
Answer:
The Xfinity Stream app is not compatible with the Google TV operating system, but Roku, Fire TV, and Apple TV devices all support Xfinity Stream. On all platforms, the Xumo app is available for free and works normally.
Question:
How does Aruvo TV work with Roku's "Guest Mode" setting?
Answer:
Roku OS does not permit selecting available apps in Guest Mode, and this will interfere with the functionality of the Aruvo app. Please ensure that "Guest Mode" is DISABLED when installing Aruvo on a Roku device.
Question:
Is Roku TV compatible with Aruvo?
Answer:
Yes, Roku TV and Roku Streaming Stick devices are compatible with the "Aruvo TV Software" app. Roku TVs can use an ONN Google TV/ Chromecast streamer connected via HDMI port, or install the native Aruvo TV Software app for Roku. When using an external HDMI device, please update the settings below to ensure that the HDMI input is set correctly:
- Go to the Roku home
- Select "Settings"
- Select "System"
- Select "Power"- Select "Power on to HDMI Input"
NOTE: Due to the architecture of the Roku OS, some features of Aruvo TV will not work properly when using the "Aruvo TV Software" app for Roku. Unfortunately, this is just how Roku OS is designed, and cannot be changed from the Aruvo side. For more information, see Aruvo TV Software: Smart TV Platform Comparison.
Question:
What happens when a guest scans the QR code in the "WIFI" section on Aruvo TV?
Answer:
When a guest scans the QR code on the TV, it will automatically connect the guest's phone to the configured Wi-Fi network. The guest will not be required to select the Wi-Fi network or enter the password manually.
Question:
Will the Aruvo TV app close when someone presses the "Home" or "Back" button on a remote control?
Answer:
You can configure Google OS devices to restrict this behavior by following the setup instructions for Google TV, Fire TV, or Apple TV before installing the Aruvo app.
Note, however, Roku OS does not allow apps to redirect button assignments on the Roku remote control, so when guests press the "Home" button, "Back" button, or any dedicated app-launcher buttons, the TV will close the Aruvo Software app.
With this in mind, we have created a Roku screensaver to encourage guests to reopen the Aruvo app. You can see instructions on how to install and configure the Aruvo screensaver at How To: Install Aruvo TV Screensaver for Roku.
Question:
How many items can we add in the services section for upselling purposes on the television screen?
Answer:
There's no limit! You can add as many upsell offerings as you like.
Question:

ThinkReservations does not support automatic importing of units. Instead, you'll need to add your units to Aruvo manually, then visit the ThinkReservations dashboard to map them to the units in Aruvo. For more information, see our guide on How To: Link Your Aruvo Account to ThinkReservations.
