Chromecast stick remote will come connected to the Stick but you need to connect it to the Smart TV once you receive the Chromecast stick. it is required to connect it to TV so that guest
can control the volume of TV with one remote and do not need to keep two separate remote.

✅ Before You Begin
- Remote Control: Examine the remote control for any physical damage. Test the buttons directly to see if they are responsive. If the remote buttons do not work or feel stuck, it may be a hardware issue. You can often test a remote's signal by pointing it at a smartphone camera—a working remote will show a flash on the phone's screen when a button is pressed.
- TV Unit: Inspect the TV for any physical damage. If the TV powers on but doesn't respond to the physical buttons on the unit, it could indicate a hardware problem with the TV's control panel.
⚙️ Steps to configure Chromecast remote with TV:
Step 1: On the main menu, click the gear icon to access the settings.
Step 2: Select "Remote and Accessories," then select "Setup Remote buttons."
Step 3: Select "Add Device"
Step 4: Select the device you want the remote to be able to control: TV/Sound bar/Receiver
Step 5: Choose the Volume/Power and Input control to set up on the remote.
💡 For setting up the volume/power and Input control on the remote, follow the steps below:
Volume
- From the remote buttons setup screens, select Volume and then the device that you want to play sound. The screen will show 'You’ll hear music next'.
- Make sure that your device’s sound is on and then select Next.
- When you hear the music, point your Chromecast remote at the device and toggle the volume up and down.
- In the section 'Do the volume buttons work?' select 'Yes' or 'No', and try again.
- You must point your remote at the device for the volume buttons to work.
- The remote won’t be able to control the volume on some device models.
Power
- From the remote buttons setup screen, select Power and then the device that you want to turn on and off with the remote.
- Turn off your device by pressing the power button on the remote, wait 8 seconds, and then turn the device back on.
- In the section 'Did the power button work?' select 'Yes' or 'No', and try again.
- The remote won’t be able to control the power on some device models.
Input
- From the remote buttons setup screen, select Input.
- On your remote, press the Input button and then switch through all your TV inputs.
- If the input button works, make sure that you switch back to the HDMI port to which your Chromecast is connected.
- In the section 'Did the input button work?' select 'Yes' or 'No', and try again.
- The remote won’t be able to control the input on some device models.
Important note:
You may need to attempt the configuration of volume, power, and input twice. When pairing the remote to your TV, Google sends a command to the TV. If that command doesn't work, select 'No,' and Google will send a different command. You should continue this process until Google identifies the correct command for the TV to control power, volume, or input.
