The system supports major streaming platforms like Roku TV, Amazon Fire TV, Google TV, and Apple TV, and provides a structured process to link each device to a central system using a unique, auto-generated linking code.

⚙️ Step-by-Step Setup
1. Adding a Smart TV
Administrators can register a new Smart TV by selecting the “+ Smart TV” button on the dashboard.
- Navigate to the unit page.
- Click on Smart TV
- Register the new Smart TV by selecting + Smart TV” button on the dashboard.
- You are advised to name the Smart TV, which should be labelled with a recognizable name for proper recognition of the device. (e.g, “Bedroom 1 TV”)
- You need to select the mandatory field, which is "Installed at," using the dropdown of pre-configured locations. (e.g., Living Room, Suite 201)
- Select a 4-digit PIN code (used to secure the Aruvo app on Google TV devices). Then, click “Generate Linking Code” to get the Linking Code.
2. Smart TV successfully added
When a Smart TV is successfully registered, the system will display a confirmation page with the following information.
- It will give a confirmation message indicating Smart TV has been successfully added.

The dashboard will show the Smart TV name and its installed location.
- It will show supported platform icons, e.g, Roku TV, Amazon Fire TV, Google TV, and Apple TV.
- It will guide us through the steps to install the application on the TV.
- It will show us the steps to launch the application and the code to link the TV.
- Linking code: Each Smart TV is assigned a unique, immutable linking code that ensures a secure association between the physical device and the system.
- It will give us the message that your TV is not linked.
- There would be a status indicator, which, when red text suggests TV is not linked.
3. Smart TV Dashboard
The Smart TV dashboards list all registered Smart TVs with all the essential details, e.g:
- Smart TV name: We should keep the name in a way that we can identify the device.
- Installation location: It would be the location or the room where the TV is installed.
- Platform type: It supports different platforms, e.g, Roku, Apple TV, Android TV/Google TV, or Fire TV
- Linking status : Linking status will confirm if the TV is linked or not.
- Linking code: Linking code is the unique code generated to link the device during setup.
- Device ID: Device ID is the unique Identifier assigned to each Smart TV.
- Last guest activity: It will show the timestamp and data about the last interaction from the guest (available for Google TV)
- Guest Usage Metrics: It will show the average watch time, accessibility permission, and PIN requirements.
4. Device action
We can make changes to the device(Smart TV) information as well.
- We can modify Smart TV details such as its name and installation location.
- We can remove Smart TV entries from the system.
- We can generate or view the linking code needed for device setup.
- We can view Guest activities: For supported platforms (e.g., Google TV), where we can view detailed guest interaction metrics.
5. Supported Platform(s)
- It supports major platforms, including Roku, Apple TV, Android TV/ Google TV, and Fire TV.
6. Linking status
We can check the linking status on the dashboard. Status is a color code for clarity.
- Red: Your TV is not linked (This is the default status for new devices)🔴 Red

Green: Your TV is linked. 🟢 Green
7. Editing Smart TV details:
Users with Administrator level (permission) can update Smart TV information using the Edit option:
- There are a few fields that can be edited, whereas there are fields that are only on the dashboard.
Editable Fields:
- Smart TV name
- Installed Location
Read-only fields:
- Linking code
- Linking Status
On successful save dashboard reflects updated information, while if we use the cancel button, it will revert to unsaved changes.
8. Deleting Smart TV:
Deleting a Smart TV is suggested only when a TV is physically removed or is no longer in service.
- Navigate to the Click Delete option on the selected Smart TV.
- Upon clicking, a Dialog box will appear saying" I understand that this action can not be reversed.
- Once we delete the Smart TV from the dashboard, it will be permanently removed from the System.
- The guest no longer links or accesses the device.
- The TV will disappear from the dashboard.
🛠️ Important Details
Note:
- Smart TV linking supports linking multiple Smart TVs to the same installation location or room. For example, Room 101 can have both Roku and Google TV devices listed separately.
