✅ Before You Begin
-
Verify that the Aruvo TV app is installed and actively running on your property's Smart TVs.
-
Ensure you are logged into the Aruvo portal with an Administrator account.
-
Gather your brand's specific Hex color codes if you want the TV text to exactly match your company colors.
⚙️ Step-by-Step Setup
Activating the Welcome Card
-
Turn on the Master Switch: Open the top-left menu in the Aruvo Portal and click on the TV section. Find Guest Welcome Card and flip the main toggle to ON. Note: If you ever need to temporarily hide the welcome message from all TVs, simply flip this switch OFF. Your settings will be saved in the background.
-
Personalize the Guest Name: Flip the Guest Name toggle ON. In the text box, type your desired greeting (like "Hello" or "Welcome"). To make it dynamic, insert tags such as
{{{GUEST_NAME}}},{{{GUEST_FIRST_NAME}}}, or{{{GUEST_LAST_NAME}}}. The system will automatically swap these tags with the actual guest's name during their stay. You can then use the formatting tools to pick your font, adjust the text size (between 16px and 48px), and choose a text color. -
Add Your Property Name: Flip the Property Name toggle ON. Type in your property's name or a custom welcome line (e.g., "Welcome to the Oceanview Suite"). You can also use tags like
{{{PROPERTY_NICKNAME}}}or{{{COMPANY_NAME}}}. Just like the guest greeting, you have full control over the font, size, and color for this specific line of text.
Styling and Positioning the Card
-
Enhance Readability with a Background: Turn on the "Make Guest Name & Property Name Stand Out" toggle. This creates a shaded box behind your text, ensuring it is easy to read regardless of the image displaying on the TV behind it.
-
Adjust Background Color and Transparency: Use the color picker to select a background hue (or type in a Hex code). Next, adjust the transparency slider. Setting it to 0% makes the box a solid color, while 100% makes it completely invisible. A setting of around 70% usually provides the best balance of readability and style.
-
Choose the Alignment: Use the alignment buttons to move the entire welcome card to the Left, Center, or Right side of the TV screen. Watch the Live Preview pane on the right side of your dashboard to see exactly how your choices will look in real-time.
IMPORTANT NOTE
- Character Limits: To prevent your message from getting cut off on the screen, keep the Guest Name field to a single line under 60 characters. The Property Name field supports up to two lines, but should also stay under a total of 60 characters.
- Dynamic Tags: Always make sure your dynamic tags are enclosed by exactly three curly brackets on each side (e.g.,
{{{GUEST_NAME}}}) or they will not pull the correct data.
📎 Troubleshooting
-
Missing Text on TV: First, ensure the main "Guest Welcome Card" toggle at the top of the settings is switched ON. Then, verify that the individual toggles for Guest Name and Property Name are also enabled.
-
Names Aren't Updating: Double-check your spelling and formatting for the smart tags. They must be formatted perfectly (like
{{{PROPERTY_NICKNAME}}}) to link to the system. -
Text Looks Messy or Overlaps: You may have exceeded the 60-character limit. Shorten your message, or try tweaking the background transparency to make the card contrast better against the TV's wallpaper.
