How to: Install Aruvo on Samsung Smart TV

This article provides an overview of the steps to install Aruvo TV on Samsung smart TV models.
Since Samsung smart TVs use a proprietary operating system, the Aruvo app will not install and run correctly on these TVs. However, you can still use Aruvo on an Samsung TV by installing the app on an external HDMI streaming device that runs a compatible operating system, like Google TV, Apple TV, or Roku.

✅ Before You Begin
- Ensure that your external HDMI streaming device(s) are compatible with Aruvo TV. For a complete list of compatible devices, see Compatible TV Models: Aruvo TV.
- Ensure that you have the Wi-Fi credentials for the property where the TV is installed.
- Ensure that you have the required account credentials for your device platform(s).
- Create your Aruvo account - If you have not set up your account yet, follow the steps in this guide to set up your account.
- Configure your branding and theme - If you have not completed these steps during initial account setup, follow the steps in this guide to configure your theme and branding.
⚙️ Steps to configure and install Aruvo on Samsung smart TV
1. Configure your Samsung smart TV to select external HDMI input on bootup:
Since Samsung's proprietary operating system cannot run the Aruvo app, you'll need to configure the TV to automatically switch to an HDMI device which has Aruvo installed. Follow these steps to select the HDMI input:
- Select the HDMI input where the device running Aruvo will be installed.
- Press the "Settings" (gear) button on the TV remote control to open the main Settings menu, or navigate to the Settings section in the main Samsung TV menu.
- Select the "General" option, then press the "OK" button to select it.
- Select the "Smart Features" option, then press the "OK" button to select it.
- Select the "Auto Run Last App" option, then press the "OK" button to enable it.
- Select the "Auto Run Smart Hub" option, then ensure that it is DISABLED.
2. Install Aruvo on external HDMI streaming device:
If you haven't yet, you'll need to install and configure the Aruvo TV app on your external HDMI streaming device. Follow the instructions for your HDMI device type, as found below:
- Google TV
